The Vera Project, located on the corner of Republican and Warren Ave. N. on the Seattle Center Campus, 6–9 p.m.Taking a page from the speed dating phenomenon, the GRAMMY U: Power Mixer will provide GRAMMY U members with an opportunity for one-on-one face time with prominent members of the music community. Following "speed date" rounds, students will have the opportunity to network with the panelists and other students in a more traditional mixer setting.
Panelists will include Leslie Beattie, content acquisition manager, Amazon Music; Denise Burnside, director, business & operations, KEXP 90.3 FM; Dean Carlson, former on-air radio personality and music director for stations such as KMTT, KXRX and KISW; Sue Ennis, songwriter (Heart) and music educator; Jesse Flores, advertising and promotions manager, Easy Street Records; Bill Gibson, producer and author of the Hal Leonard Recording Method series; Pete Greenberg, talent buyer/booking agent, Hott Shows Division; Christen Greene, CEO and music supervisor, Faux Pas Productions; Will Kane, production manager, the Triple Door; Ben London, Executive Director, Pacific Northwest Chapter; Steve Mack, producer/engineer/artist (Spiritualized, Stereolab); Hummie Mann, two-time Emmy-winning composer/arranger; Thomas Marriot, jazz artist/trumpeter; Michaelangelo Matos, author of Sign 'O' The Times, former editor, Seattle Weekly; Jenn Meyers, founder/owner of AE Entertainment; Jovino Santos Neto, music educator and GRAMMY-nominated jazz musician; John Randolph, guitarist, the Cops and sound engineer for the Sunset Tavern and Tractor Tavern; Skerik, saxophonist/composer; Ian Sheridan, bassist/producer (Jason Mraz); Megan West, music industry relations at Zune.
