Prestigious GRAMMY® Week Event Highlights GRAMMY Foundation's Ongoing Work To Safeguard Music's History
WHO: The GRAMMY Foundation® will host "Cue The Music: A Celebration of Music and Television" — the 12th Annual GRAMMY Foundation Music Preservation Project — featuring live, musical performances and historical television footage from the Paley Center for Media, content partner for this year's program. GRAMMY®-winning legend Solomon Burke, current GRAMMY-nominated artist Colbie Caillat, GRAMMY-nominated pop/rock band The Fray, Latin GRAMMY® winner Jorge Moreno and current GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter Jason Mraz, among others to perform, and special guest hosts. Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy® and the GRAMMY Foundation will be in attendance, along with other prominent music industry leaders and members of The Recording Academy.
WHAT: "Cue the Music: A Celebration of Music and Television" — this year's GRAMMY Foundation Music Preservation Project — will explore the invaluable contributions of music to television and its influence on the American cultural landscape. The GRAMMY Foundation has partnered with the Paley Center for Media to identify footage of historical significance that will be featured during the evening. Highlights will include clips from music in variety shows, television themes, sitcoms and the program will look at how television has become a 21st century medium for breaking new artists. This GRAMMY Week event promotes The GRAMMY Foundation's mission of recognizing and preserving our musical past so that future generations can continue to benefit from an appreciation and understanding of those contributions.
