Chapter, in conjunction with the GRAMMY Foundation, will host a GRAMMY SoundChecks with GRAMMY-nominated artist Melanie Fiona at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Fiona will discuss her musical influences and her newfound commercial success. Her debut album, The Bridge, was released in 2009 and the second single off the album, "It Kills Me," reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and earned her a nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards.
