Hard Rock Cafe, Washington, D.C.Amid an unusual balmy winter temperature, Washington, D.C. Chapter members and their guests celebrated Music's Biggest Night at the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards Telecast Viewing Party at the Hard Rock Cafe.
With the red carpet full, guests entered to lavish food displays and the sounds of DJ Jeri No Va. Party décor included a wax figure of President Barack Obama (courtesy of sponsor Madame Tussaud's Washington, D.C.) and a jumbo rear projector screen on stage. During the reception and commercial breaks, radio sponsor 94.7 the Globe on-air personality and event host Marci Wiser facilitated an Ultimate GRAMMY Trivia game in which winners were awarded gift bags as prizes. The event also featured a silent auction with proceeds supporting the Chapter's Music Education Grant Program. Taking a break from their volunteer duties, GRAMMY U students led the party in a Soul Train-style line to the tune of the Jay-Z & T.I. Featuring Kanye West & Lil Wayne GRAMMY Award winning song "Swagga Like Us."
Thank you to our event sponsors: Hard Rock Cafe, USA Today, Waste Management, Harman International, T-Mobile Sidekick, 94.7 the Globe, Madame Tussaud's Washington, D.C., and Amelia's Cakes.
